Our Choice: A Gentle Whisper for Change on October 2nd

As RTO approaches, many of our hearts are heavy with the thought of returning to the office. Many of us have found solace and productivity in our home environments. While we respect diverse opinions and situations, I would like to propose a simple, quiet act of unity for those who share the sentiment of cherishing remote work.

What if, on October 2nd, we make a choice that speaks volumes through silence? Those of us who feel that our voices have been unheard, let’s log in from our homes and continue to work with the same dedication and productivity that we have demonstrated over the past years. No fanfare, no outcry—just a gentle whisper for change through our actions.

Our productivity will stand as a testament to the efficacy of remote work. Our meetings will continue as they always have, regardless of location.

I fully understand and respect if you are not in a position to join in this act. However, for those who can, imagine the strength in our collective choice. This is not about defiance, but rather a statement that our work and dedication are not confined to office walls.

The EC says that we have to return to the office for the “culture.” What if our culture was shaped by our choices, reflecting a community that values flexibility, balance, and respect for individual circumstances?

This act is not meant to be disruptive, but a peaceful demonstration of the value we bring from any location.

October 2nd could be the day our unity echoes through the corridors of our workplace, not with shouts, but with the hushed tones of dedicated professionals continuing to make a difference from the spaces they call home.

The comments on this are really showing how great that Schwabbie culture is. It was nice when TDA ran the show.

lmfao the one post that lays out a plan (a pretty weak one but still) just gets absolutely mauled by downvotes. The comments are just apathetic or the ones that advocate for collective action are also downvoted to he-l. Great work corporate team! Let's keep the workers in line! Divide and conquer!

OP here responding to comment below insinuating I'm a corporate plant. I'm not. I tried to make as positive of a statement as I could where all I'm suggesting is we just keep working from home. If you've got any better ideas "Chuck," we're all ears. I'm not saying I have the perfect solution to this. I'm just throwing one out there. Come up with a better one, I'll support it. You want to do something more drastic? I'm game. Just trying to get everyone to do something instead of just taking it up the a-s, complaining about it on anonymous platforms, and scared of retribution from our employer. It is so easy to sow division and just sh-t on each other on here. Just trying to be constructive. I'm not giving up because of people like you. If anything, you seem like a corporate shill trying to sow disunity. We're all on the same team here. RTO sucks. The lack of communication sucks. Let's try to change it.

Submission is incredibly weak and I suspect this post is a corporate plant. You need to show people you care by doing something. Working silently is the most pathetic attempt at activism I’ve ever seen.

Apathetic losers like "Chuck" over here are why it's so difficult for workers to collectively bargain. Schwab employees could force the EC to reverse course if they wanted to, but it has to be done together. You can't do anything alone.
