Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

This is no longer a good place to work

Are there still those among us who claim this is a good company with honest management? I'd truly like to know. And if there are such people, as much as I doubt it, would you please let us know what your reasoning behind such thinking is? I'm not trying to start a fight, I would truly like to know.

100% agree with some of the comments in that my manager and team were blind-sided and they’re on our side. They’re as inconvenienced and (almost) as screwed as we are because NONE of us had time to prepare for this. If we had 10% of the transparency necessary, I could have shifted my plans significantly to avoid this stress. But no, Walt and the EC team are living in a different world than we are.

Still on the TD side yet to move blue. To my manager/his manager/director's credit, they were all blindsided by this too and hopped on a meeting with us when the announcement dropped. They took the grilling from us that the EC hides from. They're pi---d too and said they would convey our feedback, but sounds like they are basically at the mercy of whoever is above them. At the end of the day though, if nothing changes, no amount of empathy is going to change how utterly absurd this situation is.

It depends on the department and management. My manager didn’t even want to have a word about it. He just follows the orders and gets frustrated and gets mad at you if you bring up anything that requires him to spend any time on. You are lucky if you have a nice & caring manager.

For a large organization, it is decent. People make good careers at Schwab but it is not for everyone.
