Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Sales Rep Comp

The Sales Comp process and calculations have been wrong the last 2 years, and many give up challenging the amount of comp paid due to the lengthly time consuming internal processes and the fear of losing their jobs.
What can be done

I think the poster meant TR is knowingly classifying employees as exempt so they don't have to pay overtime.

The firm who is handling this is Epstein Becker & Green PC

This is nothing. Thomson Reuters has intentionally classified several employees as non exempt. There is a major class action suit underway which will hit the news shortly.

This is so valid. Leadership/management is well aware of the pay discrepancies. Many times deals reps sold are not counted even if per policy the rep should receive compensation. This adds to the mistrust between management and sales reps, which management thinks can be mitigated by throwing pizza parties/ice cream socials. It's patronizing.
Management makes no real effort in resolving issues and continue advocating for a system that they have admitted is not accurate.
There should be an active lawsuit for offenses occurred in the last 2 years and counting.

There needs to be a class action suit! 100s of Sales Reps and mgrs are not getting paid the compensation they were promised

I don’t know the names of them. The 2 I know of came from people talking in TR. 1 was a lawsuit with the Account Managers in the FindLaw business unit. And 1 was for sales reps and pay being miscalculated (not sure if that one went to court)

However I did I Google search and found 2 more

Get an employment lawyer. The company has been sued and lost at least 2 times to my knowledge for wage issues.

Employment lawyers would jump on a case like this because the wages are high and there are multiple people impacted.

If you have solid enough evidence now set up a meeting with an attorney.

If you are able to try to get evidence across multiple business units. I’m pretty certain it’s happening across most of TR.
