Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

everyone (incl Mgmnt) is taking it easy and whiling away time

There seem to be absolutely no urgency or pressure on anyone now, whatsoever. Everyone I see is taking it easy and just buying time. Those gruelling weekly/monthly Outlook/deal update calls are history now. Most of these calls these days last 10 minutes and absolutely no pressure, you walk away easy with what you put up, even if calling down your commit significantly. Here in Singapore office, there used to be few super passionate and dedicated managers, incl our previous Geo VP, who used to be in office everyday by 8am without fail and walks around listening to people and to infuse so much of motivation and touching the hearts of people …. Now that they are all gone, it’s really a ghost town. Really no one cares now and the company is being ki-led by the ELT, sad state. So we are all, the remaining ones, are now mere passengers, sadly.

So you are saying all managers are coasting? Due to massive equity? Due to the lack of their own success criteria? Or maybe they are all lazy? Not sure how many forecast, account planning, QBR’s etc you have been part of but I can tell you there are many managers in sales teams still waking up every day to find a path for their people and their customers to be a success. 100% agree the ELT is coasting but I think there is work ethic and hunger in many managers, so casting this as a wide problem as you state is a misrepresentation. Why do we have an office in Singapore again?

TD is being literally destroyed by the Strategy (NC) and Sales Ops (ER)…. No one in these two teams have an inkling of the market realities but filled with bootlickers dictating theory which has no relevance in the market. Really sad, I too am hanging around and buying time.

what a joke, Forrester ... Business Insider ... the purveyor of any announcements a company wants to tell investors to boost their image and pump stock prices ... it's all marketing and does not have to have any truth, substance, or reflect reality

Stock price up over a dollar today and the only news is some ridiculous cloud article that says TD is a leader. Yeah, right.

Nobody cares because the stock price has doubled (now $52) + ELT and the board have been given options up the wazoo at $20.

Why try hard when on paper you have your house paid off 2x-3x over.

This is what happens when you have a poor/lazy board of directors.
