I just want to say thank you for not honestly giving these exception requests 2 thoughts for each individual. You pretty much said thanks for the many years of hard work but because of your personal situation you only have a few months left of employment. You didn’t really take anything into consideration if you had any empathy you’d make it work but you don’t care about us as people only butts in chairs take those calls.

Managers can't approve a lot of exceptions. My guidance is 12% of People Leaders, and 18% of Individual Contributors. Do the math on that for your average manager. If you have 11 PL's under you, 1 can get an exception. If you have 20 IC's under you, 4 get an exception. Sorry, but the vast majority are going back, whether we like it or not. And there's nothing us middle managers can do about it. We're being told from the top.
They didn’t give managers much room to approve any requests. I wish I could approve every one that came to me but was told a very small percentage qualifies.
First time?
I guess it’s time to learn that in a corporate world that is literally all you can ever be, a bu-t in a chair. I honestly did think CS was different. I got complacent, I let myself think it was the kind of employer that would go out of its way to accommodate for workers it treated as family. Won’t happen again
