Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What are these alleged hubs?

My business unit is not actually impacted. I'm pretty horrified looking at some of these posts though. What a cluster. So. Where are you people moving to, theoretically?

I haven't spent much time looking. I did type hub into the search field in hronestop a few days ago but nothing relevant showed up, at least not on the first page and I didn't look any further. And for those that you think I'm a clueless slackwit, in my prior role, in addition to the usual annual bonus, I got $16,000 extra in bonuses because I worked my * off. I haven't seen any extra bonuses in the current role yet but I haven't been there long. I do tend to keep my nose to the grindstone and focus on my customers though rather than whatever else is going on in the company.

Do I understand correctly that you all have received emails regarding RTO? I've gotten nothing.

“It's mostly proprietary and useless outside of this irrelevant company. And yes my job is becoming irrelevant also. But fixing cable and fiber is something tangible and needed.”

So how do you know which fiber to repair? Who dispatched you out? How do you get paid? Who actually isolates the trouble that you’re sent to fix? Who handles the reports? Who handles the FCC filings? Who makes sure you have training? Where do you get your materials from?

It’s amazing that employees with years of experience have such a narrow view of the company. I’ve got 24 years and instead of spending all my time playing with wire cutters, I progressed through 3 levels of being a tech and 2 in management in 7 different roles. You should have used your time here to move around and develops more skills.

Now get out there and splice that cable!

This board is about AT&T layoffs. But most of posts are concerning office workers.
My AT&T world is outside in the field.
Some of you think AT&T is all the same as your world. Not even close, as a matter of fact I still don't understand what most of you do in your office or are supposed to be doing.
Always has been like that for me 20 years strong. And you have to admit that AT&T by micro managing everything and giving everybody a different job title created your job out of thin air from nothing. Seriously, look at what some of you do. It's mostly proprietary and useless outside of this irrelevant company. And yes my job is becoming irrelevant also. But fixing cable and fiber is something tangible and needed.
All these other departments are just painfully embarrassing.

Alleged hubs?

Nothing alleged, it's been communicated both internally and in some of the major media outlets for weeks. What kind of clueless idi0t would even post this kind of question if they were legit.

OP is clearly someone who is either not an employee or living under a rock.

If he's really an employee, how many execs need to have calls to get the message out for this loser to realize what's going on internally. My guess is he was too busy taking care of WFH chores like taking care of kids or playing at to pool to realize he may soon be out of a job. People like this should really go to the top of the list when these layoff exercises come around. What a DBag!

Omg want to ping me on Teams? Need my UID? 🙄 I told you, I'm not impacted. We have other challenges to face on my team, namely, if we'll be sold.

I said my business unit is not impacted. Why is that difficult to understand? You do know that not all employees are affected by this initiative? I'm just asking what the hubs are.
