I thought this was an impressive op-ed. Quit being so anti-Ford and negative.

I think the UAW has the right idea. If Ford salaried employees had the collective bargaining power, I bet we could get a benefits package like what GM employees get (double Ford’s GSR bonus nominals, better insurance). And they get all of that for designing worse cars.
Ford UAW and salaried pay isn’t competitive with the big 3. Hope the UAW strikes. The suits have it coming.

$112K total compensation in a year is not the same as $112K in wages.
Most of that $112,000 total comp is insurance and other benefits.
Hourly wages are still in the $19-26 range according to Glassdoor and zip recruiter.

A large part of your total comp package goes towards things like health insurance which never ends up directly in your pocket. So you’re misrepresenting the facts here a little.

All-in, the average hourly UAW-represented employee at Ford earns $64 per hour in wages and benefits — or $112,000 per year.

I should consider join take a UAW work
