Thread regarding Ford layoffs

About to reach 1 year; is it too early to find something else and leave?

I don't realistically see myself being here 2 years down the road even; even if I bust my bu-t, I could still get thrown out. The compensation here is too low anyway even if I stay.

I thought it would be a good place for stability but its exactly the opposite it seems like

Ford used to be a good place for a stable career a long time ago, but these days, I think it's always wise to keep your resume updated, and test the waters for better opportunities from time to time.

Back a few years ago my dept hired some really talented young gear head engineers. They left after 2-3 years because of low merits and lack of promotion opps because Ford promotes based on woke ethics first. They left for tier one suppliers with signing bonus and 10% raise. Ford is no longer a top company to work for. US Engineers are a throw away commodity when Ford has LCCs to send work too.
