Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

We should sue Intel through a class action case for discrimination over DEI practices

The recent Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action is going to force universities to stop using race as a criteria for admitting applicants into their programs. This could easily be translated to apply to the widely used corporate discriminatory DEI polices of hiring and promoting based on race, gender, gender identity, se-ual preference, and age to name a few of the attributes used. These are just as much discrimination as are using affirmative action criteria for college entrance. This could become a case for future Supreme Court review to end the discriminatory practices used by corporations and for a return to hiring based on qualifications and promotions based on merit.

I recall receiving tens of thousands of dollars in a settlement that involving Intel and a handful of other tech companies who were accused of colluding to not hire each others employees. As usual, the companies denied that this was true but still paid out hundreds of millions in damages.

The reparations for the impact of DEI could be phenomenal.

@6ukw, if TRUE then Intel shouldn’t receive a dime of government subsidies.

Incompetence spans race, nationality, age, ability, identity and culture - especially culture - AMERICAN CULTURE!

@1uan+1npi6Bs0, lol, typical D1D BS... we are better than everyone how did you get more than me... I was a grade 8 in ATTD. It was based on job so I guess you were worth less to Intel than me. OMG, someone outside of LTD can't be worth more... loser... I got 2 checks, one for about 9K and the other for about14K

The problem I see is that Intel and others have these hiring practices specifically to meet government requirements for contracts.

I agree, 40 years ago affirmative action was needed. Still, each time we saw a black officer when I was in the service, we all thought: There goes an affirmative action officer. Too bad, because I'm sure some of those black officers really earned their positions, and did not get the respect they deserved.
Time for affirmative action is over, let everyone earn what they get.

@qod+, I lost out on a well deserved grade bump because a DEI Director said it had to go to a DEI employee who was absolutely awful at their job.

I stopped taking the mandatory annual training seriously after that.

I think plenty of white and Asian fellas at Intel can argue thousands in missed wages and bonuses for being held back for promo.

I have spoken to more than one manager that had a diversity direct report that they were planning to fire because of bad performance. HR called the managers and forced them to promote instead of fire. No wonder intel is failing.

@ttq Affirmative action and DEI are two arms of the same beast.
