Does anyone know if an A Plan PIN that was generated by the employee while employed by Ford will work after the employee leaves Ford? My understanding is the PIN is good for a year but I’m not sure if they cut off PINs for former employees when they leave employment.

My severance package said A plan pins may be generated for three years after separation.
Make sure the dealer will honor the a-plan pin. My aunt went to buy Mach-e a year back and the dealer fought them, didn’t want to honor the pin.

Yes, can confirm as this is exactly what I did. Generated A plan pin just in case; my Bronco Sport ended up getting rear ended and totaled, so it came in handy.
As to why you would use it, in my case after just having a vehicle totaled and having to get a new one quickly, saving ten percent and bit having to haggle with an out of state dealer really was a good thing.
Why would you ever consider using it?
Yes it is still good for a year
