Thread regarding Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. layoffs

We keep losing quality engineers

Nobody seems to care about the brain drain. How long before the results keep reflecting the drop in the quality of work caused by these layoffs and attrition? Is there nobody in the C-suite who cares about this company? Or do they truly just care about getting paid the big bucks and sc--w everybody else?

Pay close attention to Marc Caspers' performance in the last Town Hall and video address. His studied body language intended to invoke a range of emotional responses, i.e. passion, drive, intensity, which remind you of the performance you gave in your 3rd grade school play. And then pay close attention to his eyes. I've seen more life in the eyes of dead mackerel. Laying off employees is just business, an exercise in cost/benefit analysis to maintain shareholder value and keep the stock price at COVID highs. Marketing were so disappointed that Monkey Pox didn't reach the status of a pandemic and no gravy train would be leaving the station. Lip service to valuing employees and patients, but if a buck cannot be made then sentiment is not affordable.

"One of the world's most admired companies" - By whom exactly?

Attuned to marketing, not science. Unwilling to acknowledge, let alone fix systemic problems with chemistries, platforms and processes. Mediocre goals by mediocre people for mediocre gain. Glad they are in my rear-view mirror.

Yes. That’s all they care about.
