There was no such thing as RTO, but coming off the heels of divestiture in the early 80s, many AT&T managers(it was a CPE & LD company back then) faced some relocate or go home choices. Those choices would often involve moves that could be across the state, across the country, or across the ocean and require an immediate “yes” or “no” response.

Yep! In the 80’s they said “you are not being productive at home with no internet and no laptops.

“You will RTO until 2020, when technology and covid have formed a perfect synergy”
