Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Iowa WARN Notification

Wells Fargo just updated WARN notifications for Iowa. Here are the details:

7/11 - Des Moines - 800 Walnut St - 65
801 Walnut St - 7
8/8 - Des Moines - 206 8th St - 8

Not sure why it took so long for the 7/11 date to get sent, but I can confirm it just showed up this morning (8/10). This is looked at every day.

In Maryland, warn notices for 2023 disappeared for WFC. They were on the Maryland website, throughout 2023, then dropped off. I know for a fact that many people are getting laid off in Maryland. WTH is going on? Does remote status, now that Wf closed our sites, mean they don't have to file Warn notices with the state or are they just neglecting their duty?? This seems suspicious and unlawful.

@urr

Actually, none of the tech people i deal with day to day are in Iowa. I know two people who work in tech in Iowa and we stopped using their service, so haven’t talked with them in over a year.

Are they going to hit Concord California anytime soon?

Those numbers are missing a 000s. Let’s cut these folks loose so they can go back to school and improve their skills. Let’s be real, it’s not exactly a talent hub.

You know, here I was thinking how nice it was that there were not any a$$holes posting cr@p about one worksite or another. Just posting facts about layoffs. But, here you are.

@wsy especially if it's some backwoods state like Iowa who probably still uses paper filing cabinets.

Lol, 51 layoffs. It is like they tried to sneak under the radar and couldn't quite do it. Probably planned for 49 or something and realized there were a couple more last minute to do and had to post the WARN notice.

It could be that WF posted them but the states haven't processed them. Not excusing WF, just considering the possibilities.

What is a WARN notice and where are they found?

Arent they required to list these notices BEFORE it happens? I'm guessing WF is knowingly accepting whatever fine/etc. they get hit with.
This company has become so incredibly bad over the last 5 years. :( Really sad.

California WARN notices for 7/11

  • San Francisco - 333 Market - 32 layoffs
  • San Francisco - 420 Montgomery - 10 - layoffs
  • San Francisco - 525 Market - 1 layoff
  • San Francisco - 550 California - 8 layoffs

No news of 8/8 - I believe if layoffs are less than 50. No warnings posted or required

There was another state for their 7/11 layoffs that didn't post for 2 weeks.
