Put in a ticket, gets routed to the appropriate team. Appropriate team responds with what the issue is. I go round and round only to come back to this very team for them to then provide the fix. They were the only ones who had the answer. Why must they withhold information??? Do your frickn jobs correctly the first time around!

@mbyj+1o2HtLE5 worse than a joke, what's left now are AVP's who strut around the office demanding everyone jump when they yell and act like dictators telling others who aren't even in the management chain what needs to be done and when.

Why can’t we go back to conference calls?

@mbyj+1o2HtLE5 spot on. My last company was actually an agile shop. Seeing how it's approached here makes my head hurt. It's a wonder anything gets done.

Agile is a joke and waste of time. ADM…new titles, new jobs, new roles…20 people on a call to write a simple email, the it gets reviewed by another 10 people who all join in with their opinions…I’m from digital, I’m from UX, I’m from customer testing, I’m from the business…things that took an hour now take weeks. Everyone must have their say to show their value, background, expertise - how did we ever get along without all of you? Revising and reviewing the most stupid things that will NOT matter to the customer…really, it won’t.

Once the help desk told me it was normal that it took 20 minutes or more to connect to the VPN. This was pre Covid.

Dudes, don’t worry about AI. There is no chance this company can successfully execute any AI technology. Please. They are inept because they are cheap and will never fork over real money to do anything right expect on MyVoice and other such BS.

Yeah and last year the execs were talking about Metaverse. AI is just the latest sparkly object for overpaid senior managers that don't want to solve our current problems.

All the talk about AI yes, but look at the recent promotions. H1B? Yesiree! Shove out the American workforce, offshore it and collect the profits.

I think its mostly a management problem.

They like to spout about the latest technology like machine learning & AI instead of concentrating on the basics.

They (well IT SEC) are also terrified of a breach and so they lock down hard and say "no" to nearly everything. This makes it hard to innovate or try new things.

That said, I've heard the executives are talking about AI. No doubt because they believe it could replace lots of workers.

Because we've offshored and outsourced all of it.

And don't forget other seasonal buzzwords "rest and recharge". Must be nice for the yahoos who don't do any work there, and there are plenty of those at the AVP and above levels. Every leader across the organization is currently using "rest and recharge" in their post vacation messaging. It's cult like that they can't demonstrate authenticity and everything needs to be so heavily scripted.

Instead of focusing of business and enhancements, the company focuses on social issues, and events, to herd the cattle into the mindset of the machine.

The new word is engaged, which is nonsense.
Everyone is engaged already.

Trouble is brewing, make no mistake. This is evident by all the focus on everything but business.

I'd love to know the answer.

Here's my guess: Tech people that didn't keep up became governance and policy people by the Peter principle. They promulgated rules and restrictions that might have made sense 20 years ago, but now keep the actual doers busy writing tickets and complying with a giant bureaucratic machine. Add to this the power that the IT Security people, and compound it with the loss of some great talent that was not willing to fight an unwinnable fight against the system have and you get what we got.

With ADM we have Product Managers / Product Owners demanding we work on nothing but business items, forget system enhancements, modernization, flaw remediation, we need to do only business items. The Agile “coaches” preach only theory and demand we follow that, otherwise they get mad. A certain one thinks she’s the CEO of the company. We are puppets being pulled every direction.
