First this year was customer service and now this deal with HCL. Hans and his cronies are selling out America.

Do u honestly think the sales n marketing people of HCL would be Indians? They all are high paid East Coast American execs. The ground workers might be indians not the deal makers just saying.
Are there any non-Indian IT workers left in VZ? If so, as per the OP, definitely get certs/training on company's dime. Look for jobs which require a US government clearance. You won't have to worry about the all this corrupt H1B/India BS. Hopefully the next President of the US will put an end to H1B. There is no shortage of American STEM workers.
Outsourcing to India hasn't worked out very well for VZ. In late 2018 when VZ signed the billion dollar contract with Inf0$h1t, VZ stock with in the 50s. Now its in the 30s. What has Infy accomplished over the past 5 years? I guess in a few years, we should expect VZ stock to be in the 10s with the 2B HCL deal.
It would be a more profitable company if they did.
Dollars to dosa there are some maggots hard at work trying to figure out how to sell off the Network out to Reliance Jio or Bharti. Sadly most South Asians are really not interested in going back, except to visit, just like every other American.
