Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

HCL acquiring Managed Services

Rumor has it that Managed services being sold to HCL. Employees named in sale will have no option to take a package. HCL will give 1yr job to employees forced to stay. No job transfers are allowed to VZ for those employees being sold. Very similar to the IT folks who suffered thru the infosys sale.

Another case of VZ screwing it's employees and selling to a foreign entity. Guess those who don't want to work for an Indian company can stay.. Those who don't will get the royal screwing by VZ again.

Announcements are today.. Guess that little Italian drunk in NJ was actually telling the truth. To bad the moderators took the post down in less than 24rs...

Sounds like another deal hatched by the execs working with hcl. They call you into a meeting and give you a week to accept or gtfo.

Even those that are not being transferred to HCL , are barred to post for a new job in Verizon.

This is what would be called training your replacement! Those employees in transition are ineligible to apply or be considered for other positions in VZ.

We see how well the IT move was. I can't even begin to believe they would make this mistake again. Verizon is no more. The company is completely ruined. Here's the thing though management doesn't care as they are getting paid to do this . They can run the company into the ground and will get their golden parachutes so there is no repercussions for being terrible at your job. I say all you hard working Americans quit send a message go somewhere your valued let them run the company into the ground. Oh by the way move your lines to tmobile. Much cheaper and better service. Verizon will lose millions of subs this year.

Big boo boo! Managed Services is a core competency. This is like a replay of how Verizon and its consultants helped build T-Mobile, Zayo, American Tower, and Crown Castle into the companies that they are today.

Hans really is a nitwit and needs to be fired along with everyone near him.

Hans and his cronies really love the red dots. The company is bleeding money because of leadership incompetence. Now the worker bees got to pay the price

It means you will not be able to apply for jobs and if you do HR will simply cancel your request. You were sold to HCL in the deal, they say there is a 1yr job with HCL, but as in my state of VA, we are a employed at will state. So once you train the HCL indian employee most likely they will terminate you. You will not have your time in Verizon 28yrs for me.. No severance most likely and all your benefits can and most likely will change on HCL's whim.

I had many friends in the Infosys deal of IT and they really got the screws put to them.. At least they were offered a severance package if they didn't want to work for an indian company.

I saw that employees can't post/apply out? How does that work?

Actually not similar to Infosys. Those employees were given the option of enhanced severance since it happened at the same time of the VSP and most near retirement age pitched a fit and threatened some pretty bad press. VZ screwed up royally with that one. I feel for these employees.
