Seriously if you haven't found a new job yet get out there and do it! No amount of money is worth the torture of Verizon. Your going to ruin your life if you stay.

As somebody who got cut last year, you better get all the IT certificates you can if you are in operations. I dont know how it is in other areas other than the south, but here you going to be lucky to make 25 dollars a hour if you have nothing worthwhile. 35 a hour tops if you have certs. Only people getting 40+ hr are 2nd and 3rd level engineers. And good luck finding a job that isn't contract work for 6 months to a year
Verizon still might be better than nothing.
What companies are hiring? Where to leave Verizon for?
well first line supervisors better watch out they have union stewards acting as the supervisor
I have an outstanding salary but have zero skills. I hope there’s not a layoff. I don’t really want to flip burgers for a living.
The worst thing that can happen is you start to lose your health. I would prefer not have health insurance and not get sick rather than have insurance through work and always at risk of getting 😷 sick.
Find a better job. Verizon especially the vcg part don't care. The leadership is blind to anything especially C.J. and R.E.B. are the worse . They're both racist and will lie to cover themselves
I’m not sure I’d even need a layoff I’d feel fine being pipped and fired. After 20+ years I don’t want to just quit on some of my coworkers.
Voluntary pip?
Sure it is. I wfh, I’m a band 6, do my office space job, 15 mins a day and get a nice check. I’m 4 years out from retirement so I’ll keep doing next to nothing and wait for a rif.
Nah. I’ll take a layoff or severance and then find a job. No rush. I could use 6 months or more paid vacation.
It's never too late. When the next round of layoffs come, and they will, they may not even offer a severance.
I hear you. But there are those who have put in a ton of time and would leave a bunch of cash on the table if we just quit. It's not a one size fits all solution. Under 5 years, lots of time left to work? Do it.
