This is fairly common. You still have to do it, though, because your severance depends on it.

Mass layoffs almost never work in the long run; companies rarely rebound and prosper after mass layoffs.

There are no good ways to do layoffs but there are really really bad ways to do it. CVS is currently doing it in a really really bad way.

My $0.02 is this could be start for a long downward spiral for CVS Health; business is sprawling, nothing was ever integrated together and outside this whole vague “super app” we don’t seem to have any vision to bring everything together
