I'm a straight white (non-democrat) male, so DEI and PODS do not directly benefit me. I don't, however, understand why there is so much vitriol for DEI and PODS and the like.
I find it funny that many are happy to see VMware DEI die. Broadcom has its own notable DEI program. Assuming they are asked to stay, are they going to start complaining on Day 1 about that? What's their end game here?

DEI is the same as Google serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner for free, having showers, gyms, etc. It is a way of engaging employees in the corporate culture community in order get them more engaged in their workplace and their work. To get them to work harder.
If you think that people being more engaged at work is the reason that VMware is underperforming then you are just a sad bitter person. I would look more to other reasons like less than stellar execution and lack of innovation. These are things YOU, as an employee of VMware, play a role in.
They can share it...they just don't have it in a document that's easy to consume for employees. This in itself is pathetic. They have known there would be mass layoffs for a year...they could have created something a long time ago. Good thing they focused on DEI pods that won't exist instead!
@uga+1oA5YC4q related to different local laws obviously. Every country have different requirements for severance. Some have much better (labor protections) than others.
Where is the transparency when it comes to severance outside the US, or those countries where there won’t be an upfront decision due to local laws?
That shouldn’t be information they cannot share, it’s set and a fact, but yet it’s not done…
Categories 2 and 4 looks similar? Seems both categories are taking severance the first day. Not sure if i am hearing it that way. Second, is Betsy attempting to rewrite a better policy and send out or simply sending it out later on ?
It's obvious that the generosity of this company has spoiled some people. We should appreciate the transparency and actions of leadership.

So what happened? I have an interview pending with the company, now I am having second thoughts...
H1 is paid in Sept - that was known... there is also a Q3 bonus confirmed to be paid in October.
Transition will close before H2 bonus so we’ll just get half of it (Q3)
was that the H1 bonus paid in October H2 unknown? Did I miss something, is there another in Q3?
