Layoffs typically happen on a Tuesday, and sometimes a Wednesday. At Schwab, usually never a Monday. However, that is pre WFH days. It’s possible they change it now.

Why would layoffs happen on a Tuesday? It is bizarre to make everyone work a normal Monday if they’re getting laid off the next day.

Would not be surprised if they announce some high level departures the end of September and then the big group by mid October. This was the pattern during the last large layoff when Terri Kallsen and Andy Gill were let go. Announcing top leaders first shows the worker-bees that layoffs will impact even those who may seem untouchable so the pain will be felt across all levels (reinforcing what’s already been said about thinning out management ranks).

October mid.. it’s already confirmed. Come back here on sept 19th and speculate as to why there were no layoffs on 18th sept.

@dbu+1oCm1bOu Don't get too excited — it's just the advance that's paid out in November for Q3. My guess (pure speculation) is 10/17 when the "fun" begins...

So i can expect my manager to text me Sunday night and say WFH Monday so you don’t have to suffer the escorted out the door walk of shame.

Nigel confirmed in his town hall that it will be in Q4 because, if I heard it right, they were considering payment of “some” of the impacted person’s bonus.
