Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Replies to these posts are getting bitter, personal, and weird

Which is basically what I’ve come to expect from my fellow teammates. Anybody know of another forum that actually discusses potential layoff information?

Sure, I could this job at any time. But I actually enjoy my job, my clients and the people that I work with. So for me it is more than just a job. I have spent over twenty years at this company and have worked hard and been rewarded. And to see what our EL has done is disgusting. If I have watch another commercial talking about how much Truist cares, or hear what a great culture we have , or see another post of BR hand out yet another check, it will be too soon ,

So what you are saying is you don't care how people feel. People spend the majority of their waking hours at work, giving their best. People are not automatons. Companies ask people to go above and beyond, give psyche up speeches all the time. You cannot deny people the other side of their emotions and yet expect to benefit from rally speak to drive higher effort. You cannot expect people to shrug off resentment towards self-absorbed leaders when things go bad. Suffering based on the failings of others is a wicked co-----l.

Real entitlement is denying people's emotions. Trust me leadership is acting on their emotions and to the detriment of others.

Exactly how do you expect people to react? Applaud the millions of dollars thrown at social causes in the midst of layoffs? Parrot the meaningless platitudes of the so called leaders? Plan how to break the news to your family?
Ask a trauma center nurse or a former service member who spent time in a hot zone how people react.
Gallows humor is the least of your worries.

Many of these people go into work everyday wondering if it will be their last day of Truist employment. Bitterness is understandable.

A little compassion for these folks is the least you could provide.
