Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel riding the AI wave

Whether they'll walk the talk remains to be seen. The CEO made way too many highfalootin comments at the innovation day about Intel's involvement in AI tech but ground reality seems different.

It was a massive surprise to me that we were apparently so great at AI chips given we are as far as I know still completely designing and making very binary x86 architecture!? Where did this sudden and massive swing towards being a leader in a whole different type of chip zoom out of in the last 9 months !? I work here and and am completely confused and surprised at this ….. is it hype or is it real ? Sadly I can only think it’s hype . And it so our leaders are on such self delusional planes of thought it’s sect like - can’t expect much different from Our Lord Pat .

I'm sure Intel's AI products are being designed by our architects on PowerPoint.
