This can't be healthy.

I sleep like a baby. If i get notified, i get an early Christmas present and my old job back from my previous employer. If not, I'll leave anyway after December bonus pays out. Point is, don't let any employer determine your future. You are in control. Think of this as a glass half full.

Q gave only 2 months advance warning. That's too less for attrition. If you are affected but are so smart and got a job in a higher paying company in 2 months (typically takes at least 4 months) then you get to move and also collect Q severance. Anyone with half a brain would set joining date such that Q severance can also be collected.

Good Q: Give employees time to prepare, in case they are impacted.
Bad Q: Scare employees into leaving, so Q doesn't have to give them severance packages.

Same here, and agree this is not healthy. Not sure how this is transparent either. Telling us there will be a layoff a month in advance, then letting everyone worry for a month+.

How management can take so long to make a decision? It’s yet another symptom of a brainless company
