CommScope Holding (NASDAQ:COMM) rose 8% amid a report it's evaluating divesting its Ruckus Wireless and its access network solutions businesses as it looks to cut its debt load.

The businesses combined could generate $4 billion, according to a Bloomberg report on Friday, which cited people familiar with the matter.

Fiber optic cable company CommScope has over $9 billion in long-term debt, with almost half due in 2025 and 2026, according to the report.

“Portfolio management is an ongoing process, and we have identified several opportunities to optimize our portfolio,” a representative for CommScope (COMM) said in a statement to Bloomberg.

CommScope's (COMM) short interest is 6.8%.

The company is ‘stuck in the past’ when it comes to technology and working practices. Everyone is frustrated to work with outdated processes and half baked technology, no one in this company can perform their jobs efficiently. IT is just hindering our growth. You cannot get anything useful implemented by IT. All very archaic and no modern attitude, nor understanding how companies operate these days. The company is too old-fashioned to survive this fast paced industry.

Yep. I downvoted because it didn’t feel right to upvote on someone saying they were laid off—it’s terrible. Sincerely sorry if anyone was hurt by that—definitely not the intention.

I honestly think people put in -meaning it was a negative thing to happen. would you give a thumbs up if someone said they were let go in person.

It’s slowly becoming obvious that with the mini GM models in the BU that it’s not long before they are sold or closed and IT will be sat in the middle of a fire. The saddest thing is that IT are oblivious that the segments don’t believe the leadership in IT have their interests at heart. I mean how complicated is the demand forms and process to get something useful done that adds value.

For those remaining though I am sure mingle the merciless (have to be a certain age the remember Flash Gordon) will be at the next town hall trying to convince everyone it’s a wonderful place to be and we have loads of training for you to undertake whilst wielding the axe on another segment.

IT has become so toxic.anyone left are burnt out and left to carry the can for other job roles vacated.why don't they just offer voluntary, so people who want to leave can leave with something.i think they just want the misery to continue so more employees resign + they make small savings to pay off slt when time comes.

Me too but I feel relieved that it’s finally over and can get out with a pay off. Was angry at first but then think how miserable I have been waiting for the axe to fall. It’s a toxic place to work and now all that will be left are VPs who are no good at working in the details.

They are continuously laying off in IT.alot of good people with valuable knowledge are gone.no announcement,sweep.under the carpet then dump the extra work on others.they don't even tell you,have to hear it from other departments.so extra work + pay freezes= No Respect.
