Is Peakon anonymous?

So is Peakon really anonymous? The manager told us to give them 9s and 10s, otherwise it raises alarms and reflects negatively on our team. But I want to rebel this foolishness if I can stay anonymous.

I received detailed manager training when Peakon was launched. Your name is anonymous. The Peakon metrics available to the managers make it very easy to determine who participated in the surveys because the metrics provide gender, title eg VP, director, length of employment. Not too hard to discern who provided feedback.

The company clearly knows who submitted it and while it might not be shared with your manager, they know. Most managers only have a half dozen people.

Peakon or “peek-on” summarizes your responses and presents it to you on a dashboard in Workday. They think we’re stupid. How anonymous can it be if they can identify which responses are yours to link them to your Workday account? These companies know what actual anonymity standards are and yet they continue to advertise themselves as anonymous when they barely even qualify as confidential. They are utterly deceitful. Do not trust them.

As a manager, yes it's anonymous. But be realistic, if you've been working under a manager long enough they probably know your writing style and can figure some things out

It's anonymous, I wrote something only my manager knows I wrote and it concerned the higher ups and tried to get her to name names of people it could be and my manager played d-mb.

Upper management does not view the comments and low marks as constructive feedback. Instead they blame the front line managers for not ‘explaining things well enough’ for the staff to understand why the criticism is wrong. It’s ridiculous.

My last two managers both implored us to give 9's and 10's because of the repercussions on them if ratings came in below that. If you liked your manager but had valid complaints about certain things within the company, it put you in a tough spot. Ultimately, most of my coworkers have simply stopped filling them out. And as far as being "anonymous", your name is not on them, but there is sufficient demographic info available to management that they can figure out who you are, especially if you provide comments. So be very careful what you put on those surveys.

I left the bank if 2017 and never took a Peakon survey, so i guess this is something new.

I worked in a two person team that reported to the biggest as***le that ever lived. Her title was high enough that she should have been managing 50+ people, but she was such a piece of work that she could only get two people to report to her.

If I would have been told to fill out a Peakon survey and were honest, it would have resembled one of those desperate "please rescue me" notes that a captive in someone's basement fill out.

Since I know she would have realized it was me in about five seconds, I would have given her all 9's and 10's.

Can’t say 100% if it is anonymous at the bank but I do know that it is configurable and a friend who works at Workday (owns peakon) says setting it to be not anonymous is a common request.

Absolutely not! I had an issue with one of their superlatives. It actually said that I liked WFH least! I wrote to Peakon and complained. The 3rd person to get back to me said it was because I didn’t like that I couldn’t print at home. I never did another Peakon after that!

I try to be less precise with spelling and grammar when making comments on Peakon. There are only a couple of people on my team who can write a coherent sentence (at least in their emails), so I try to set false trails.

When I worked there I gave all 0’s all the time because that place su-ked so bad. I got a few side eyes from my manager but other than that, why lie? It was horrible there

It is anonymous. I can verify. Not to say that context of certain comments can’t point to someone. You’re manager instructing 9’s and 10’s is inappropriate. Perhaps to provide context of what categories the different ratings correlate to. But to tell you which numbers to use defeats the purpose and probably is being used in performance reviews if all very positive. Speak your mind and rate things how you truly feel.

There's nothing wrong with giving honest peakon scores and feedback. Will it change anything for the better? Absolutely not, but the notion of blind allegiance through high scores is even more absurd.

I remember CEO “Thin Skinned Gerald” calling an employee directly to argue with him after the employee absolutely shredded him in the “Anonymous” Annual Employee Engagement summary. To his credit, the employee did not back down and our aisle had a ring side seat for the festivities.

So much for anonymity….

You’re trying to be funny, but sadly an announcement about Oriskany closure is coming tomorrow, almost 3 years since they announced East Syracuse closure. Despite what you hear about WFH it’s bad for anyone who’s still in Central New York regardless of whether they make them WFH. No promotions or even chance to apply for any open reqs posted in other locations. Please pray for CNY employees and don’t make fun of them

Peak on is anonymous. However, managers, and so on up the chain, can see which team the employee works on. For example, if your manager has 10+ employees no one will know which employee it is coming from only that it came from that group. If you are only one of a few employees into a manager then it may be easier to guess who you are. Not let this deter you, managers at all levels read these items and if they are harsh, but fair and reasonable and PROFESSIONAL then they will get attention. Just don’t go all crazy in the comments but the ratings do get attention, especially when comments are added.

The managers receive a report. If they only manage a limited number of folks- it is easy to figure out who wrote it.
