New Taurus on the way

I remember the day Hackett told the world the we would no longer be making cars.

There is a new Jimmy in town...All new design... you can't make this up...

I owned a 1989 Taurus with the AXOD transmission and two later Sables (a 1999 and a 2000) with the AX4N. All went well past 100,000 miles without needing a transmission rebuild.

OTOH, I have no use for the 6F35 variant of the GM joint design transmission. The one in my son's 2015 Escape died without any warning at 108,000 miles. I'm hoping that the remanufactured unit that replaced it holds up better than the original.

@zfv+1oNsTDjG so true. I paid for a couple of rebuilds myself.

Will it have the AXOD transmission? That transmission allowed many American technicians to feed their families due to the many rebuilds which were required.

What Ford vehicle doesn't have a ton of recalls. That's why you don't want ANY Ford.

FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily.

Speaking from experience my friend.

We shouldn't name it Taurus. People still have a bad taste for when there were so many recalls for them.
