Something that I don't understand is how the news media and those Sunday morning talk segments never mention all of the engineers that were let go from the Big 3. They talk up electric vehicles, battery manufacturing, new jobs and of course the UAW workers, but, what about all of the jobs lost through their actions of layoffs?
What happened to that important part of the equation? How can the Government say our Country has so many jobs and how we have such a big work force when what, maybe 15,000 designers and engineers are no longer doing what they used to do?
And too, the Big 3 corporates demand low cost part suppliers which only create poor quality products that just pull down vehicle durability. It's been going on for as long as I remember and I used to be part of testing switch components for Ford programs. Many couldn't meet spec 35 years ago and it's apparently become worse as time went on.
It's a huge rabbit hole that isn't being addressed.
