Centene and it’s affiliate “local health plans” have been laying people off in phases for MANY years to avoid having to notify regulators.
This summer many across the enterprise were notified that their last day would be the first week of October.
We’ve also heard rumors of more layoffs are coming in November.
Sarah had a town hall earlier this year that was like a talk show, then a praise and worship town hall live with a choir in Mississippi and this Thursday they’ve rented out the NFL stadium in Tampa and based in the preview on CNET, it is going to be a freaking pep rally.
I hope they tone it down and are respectful of the news that was leaked regarding layoffs.
We absolutely will not get straight forward answers/info at the town hall this week and every time they do layoffs we don’t know who is in the rift until no one is doing their job, sh-t doesn’t get done and they are suddenly “presence unknown” in Teams.
Organization charts are not a thing at Centene.
Centene closed many offices across the country and we’re working from home - where is all the money going that was being spent on offices?! Sarah, Drew Asher, Ken Fasola, Dave Thomas, Zane Yates and the others on the 8th floor are banking when the rest of the company cannot get merit/equity increases or additional staffing resources for their over worked departments.
If we get told to increase our capacity one more time, people are going to jump ship and the “25 million” Americans and the healthcare community that depend on us will be the ones to suffer.
States with RFPs out or dropping soon like Virginia, Georgia, Florida and Kansas should really consider the stability of the organization.
New Mexico was smart to cancel Centene’s contract.
When you don’t have staffing resources, providers don’t get credentialed and enrolled correctly and you can forget paying claims because there a million different systems at Centene and the provider directory is a joke.
There are good people at Centene doing excellent things, but don’t ever trust leadership on the 8th floor or the business development team, or RVPs at corporate- they are in it for themselves and their bonuses that are 10X+ the average workers annual salary.
Love Sarah’s ideas and energy, but the white men at the top of EVERY dept who are pulling the strings, hiding/inflating their numbers dept numbers - need to go.
Performance reviews are starting next month - 70% of the workforce has to be in “meets and expectations” - you can be a rock star and your People Leader’s favorite employee is one of the 20% that might get Exceeds Expectations or the elite 5% they gets Significantly Exceeds and that is only after they go through calibration to reduce the ratings.
Enough for now… going to look for a new job like everyone else at Centene.
