I took paternity leave and I am reminded of it all the time and my ranking suffered.

Su-k it up! Men use to continue working or used vacation. Not sure this is something that should exist. If so a week or two at the most is all it should be!
@1vjs, paternity leave is not mandated by any law, it's a benefit Exxon offers to stay competitive. The manager needs to hear the message Staale Gjervik gave at a GSC forum where he said "supervisors and managers, remember that the work flexibility policy is not optional"
Post his/ her initials and where he or she works here. At least a clue where the person works., just to be aware about that scoundrel.
I took all of mine and it didn't hurt my ranking. Depends on the manager really.
The truth is, the higher you climb up the XOM ladder the worse of a father you become.
HR will do everything they can to sc--w you. HR is there to protect the company, not you. If you go to HR, good on you, but start looking for another job.
Every male employee I’ve ever known who took paternity leave told me their ranking suffered as a result. Sure, EM offers it, but only because it’s mandated. They don’t have to like it or encourage it-and they don’t.
He’s old school. Wife does everything at home and he just sits around or goes golfing. Who wants to see the kids anyway!
You have a sh!_-y supervisor
Report it to HR, also record that conversation. If you are lucky, you might hit the jackpot w/ a lawsuit.
It wasn’t that long ago that five days was the max paternity and many received fewer days. That was the norm at EMDC. Probably just mad that he didn’t get such a generous offer.
EM HR: “We agree with you boss”
If you are asking for that, you aren't specifically saying.
If you are wanting it and your boss isn't helping you achieve that, then go to his/her boss.
Good luck
Get it recorded and report him to HR.
