“Ruber” .. lol, no wonder VZ is tanking. It’s hired people with a 2nd grade education
I'm not sure who the anti union people are. We prefer you guys to unionize. Overnight, you guys become more complacent thinking the union will fix everything. When you realize they won't, you bother them, not us. Nearly all "HR issues" immediately become "union issues". That frees up my teams to focus on more important things. For field managers, 90% of things brought to their attention can be refered to union reps. Benefits we give automatically to all our employees from the top down are intentionally left out of the contracts. We tell union negotiators about these omissions and they accept them without contest! Furthermore, they tell you to ratify these contracts! And, you do!!! This saves us money, work and time. I head CA CWA agreed to dropping retiree benefits! I'm hoping we can get them to agree to that in our territories... that would be a great help to our bottom line. They just want us to agree to hire more union members. That's what lines their pockets. The union leadership are our buddies... negotiation time is a blast! It's 5% negotiating, 25% figuring out what we're going to tell everyone, 10% (just before we go out in public) preparing our statements and speeches, and 60% dirty jokes! We hang out together at the bar every night. It's one big party we can't have if you guys don't join up.
Nothing triggers them to start down voting like mention of a union.
There is alot of HR and much of it seems to revolve around optimizing employees. Working with leaders on how to squeeze out just that bit more of performance by increasing engagement and making you a vteamer above all other things in life.
HR is really your enemy. Do what you can to minimize involvement with these vultures.
What really is needed is a return to 'Personnel Departments' whose employees were actually helpful in navigating things like health and welfare benefits. Now all that is done by people in foreign lands and voice response units.
HR is your enemy and all of their costs are really just a drag on earnings.
Don’t understand all of the hate against HR, their job is to protect the company from YOU, YOU just have to learn that you have rights and power in this arrangement, don’t need a union, just literacy.

Providing a reality check as to who is not supporting the need of VZ employees fighting to keep their jobs.
This is a relevant topic.
I am not the original poster.
what does HR have to do with this site,i dont get it,why are people complaining about HR
The union works WITH the company. The only thing they will do for you and me is to take dues from us.
Do you think it's HRs job to fight management on your behalf? That's not their job, their job is keep the company from getting sued.
What you are looking for is a union. That's who opposes management for you when needed.
HR is not going to disobey VZ executives regardless of ethics, integrity, humanity, and/or consciousness.
HR works at the discretion of the corporate executives and legal regulatory laws.
Cmon HR......you should get tired by downvoting by now....
