Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

PSG separation = layoff?

Just read the news today doesn’t that mean PSG payroll won’t be Intel anymore? Are they going to be an individual company? People in Intel that supports PSG function will they see layoff/reorg?

PSG has lost most of its capability to compete as an individual company. When I left in 2022, the strategy was to use FPGA to sell more Xeons. Now the Xens can't sell, nor can Intel FPGA. What a shame!

It is true. Intel just has to put out news that it has no vested interest in pushing it's products in its own fabs. The rest is all smoke and mirrors. Same when they announce NEX and Edge being spun out.

What do you mean there is no separation? Legit PSG is going to be its own company with the intent to go IPO in 2-3years so Intel can cash out on the 15B$ Altera deal. WTF are you smoking

Again there is no separation. PSG will be a subsidiary. Thanks to our supersmart CFO's attempt to boost our stock and keep PSG under Intel's umberella and give SR an exit.

Altera used to be a dream company for design engineers a few years back. Look at its state right now. SMH

This is what intel does best: buy profitable companies, make all the employees take silly classes, change policies for promotions and hiring, then sell them off after they have been destroyed.

Altera was very profitable a decade ago, but a lot of institutional knowledge was lost during that time

Start looking for another job. TSMC in Arizon may be hiring.

Has Altera been profitable since Intel tooking it over/merger since 2015? I only see Net Losses in the quarterly earning reports. After the spin-off, Altera will NOT be able to stand on it's own two feet. Looks like eventually it will go bankrupt.

One this is for sure - this indicates how bad Intel needs cash$$$. It also reminds me of McAfee INTEL bought and spitted out...
