Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Rumors

It is just rumors but figured I would pass along. Heard BM cuts will start week of 16th or week of 23rd. Trying to finalize what to do.

The BM cut rumors didn’t pan out. At least you stated it was rumors. Next time don’t trust your sources.

Tsk the only way they are laying off BM is to close branches. And we all know that will continue until the morale improves 🤐

Given that the bank has to meet higher capital requirements over the next couple of years, and their stated grand plan is to accrete capital by increased earnings from efficiencies through the UB acquisition, that means one of two things must be true. They will generate higher revenue and maintain their current cost structure or reduce costs to increase earnings. Look at AC's track record and his preference towards cost management, and I think the answer is pretty clear. I don't see how the bank doesn't reorg again to rightsize in the current climate.

But here's the more important question. How in the world are shareholders not demanding heads from the executive team after this disastrous 5-year stretch under AC? Here's a thought...reorg the C-Suite and bring in real bankers who know how to run a bank. It's quite obvious from the financial results over the past several years that the current senior leadership team is totally inept. Shareholders have lost almost 50% since AC took over from Richard. Where is the accountability?

Don't know about BM but hints are dropping there will be a company-wide reorg

There aren’t going to be Branch Manager layoffs. They might have to close some lower performance locations even then would get recycled into another role. Quit trolling!!!
