So the long anticipated communication finally dropped. Curious why it was sent from a nameless / faceless author, linked to a 'news to use' article with the comment section disabled? This is stark contrast to the earlier RTO communication. I'd have expected a 'from the desk of' JC /MD if they are truly positioning this as a firm mandate. Wondering why the wishy/washy comm choice?

I have been looking and can't find the mail in my inbox now. Wonder was it recalled? I remember clicking the link on the mail to check designation of "main site" but can't find it now. Anyone know the subject line?
can't wait for the turf wars to begin like Gangs of New York
"Now they have neighborhoods for people who work together."
I think it's more to zone and keep people segregated. No one's new neighborhood is on a nicer side of town/building.
It’s really not much of a change at all. Now they have neighborhoods for people who work together. They still use terms like “flexible” and “hybrid”. The buildings couldn’t take all the people who used to come in before anyway. They cut out a significant amount of space and cubes. Poor planning on Dell’s part and the worst is the hypocrisy of it all.
"RR1 is as packed as it's ever been"
It is a nicer building and are less tech workers. More administrative and business types
The soft approach. The parking lot in RR1 is as packed as it's ever been. That's because that building has workers that who have worked at Dell for decades. They know what will happen if they don't put in in 30 hours on site.
from from the looks of it the buildings are 30% occupied
Before pandemic was approved for fully remote worker status. If these chucklefcks are going to force 3 days a week now they can have my badge.
Because JC is a coward and Dell took a major trouncing in Tell Dell after he sent that email the first time. Make no mistake, hes the one pushing it again.
STILL no comment from MD about RTO since the first announcement....not a good look at all for the company
It wouldnt be a straight fire
it would follow the path of any disciplinary action
warnings , right ups, chance to improve, etc
else they might just add your name to the next wfr lineup
I'm in ISG and Kristie emailed last night. I have amazing relationship with manager and he basically said if I don't plan to come in I can - 1. Try for a medical reason 2. move 1 hour away form office (like vacation property) 3. go find a new job.
....on #3 he said prob not this year, but I wouldn't likely make it through next year.
Good to know.
I'm no lawyer, but it seems supper risky to potentially penalize/ fire someone for acting on behavior that is not clearly defined to begin with. Could they legally do that?
so many people tailgate that badge swipes is not an accurate measurement. My boss told us it was becoming mandatory as he was working from home so that's how much weight it carries. How it is going to be enforced is the question and my guess, it's probably up to your boss and how they want to use it for/against you at bonus time.
@ekv+1oXyoXGl Notice the timing of an October announcement - they’ll use Q4 badge swipe data for the Feb WFR
I glanced at the FAQ and there's no mention of tracking or enforcement. So Which is it? guidance or a mandate?
no one wants their name on this as it will undoubtedly turn into a disaster of epic proportions
