Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

How the game is being played

Due to a compiling issue - leaders promoting/favoring the most vocal...most departments have reached a point where nobody in charge has any idea what's going on.

This is important, as it highlights the current trend of diversion.

Every department is infected by at least one.. You've already met them, but I'll describe them in detail.

This is a person who does more talking than contributing. Takes the key terms, the less understood-challenging processes they know nothing about, and formulate meaningful conversations (catching up with the Joneses) where they inject bits and pieces of info about these complex processes, not comprehensively, no.. just enough to to pique interest, and make it seem like they're involved in something important.

Leadership, if you read this. Take some time to know the person who is less convenient. The one who seems too busy or disinterested to talk.

That's the thing about working hard, contributing... it zaps the time and energy away from playing this game that is played so well by the people you're recognizing.

Eventually though, those hard working people you don't know about will step back and learn that doing less, and instead; talking about doing more, is what really matters in this place. Is that the culture we want here?

This company is run by a bunch of incompetent white collar mofos. This company continues to hire d-mbazzz people for leadership positions. Half of these mofos are useless azzkissers. Many of them are just empty suit mofos. They have conference calls with nothing important to talk about except showing pictures of others having birthdays or anniversaries.

Please correct your vocabulary when making comments or thinking about this is any issue. You need to replace "people" and "person" with "resources" and "resource." This will help us all to stick to the placement and grow responsibly.

Too many managers spend Way too much time schmoozng with the same people as them ( those that talk a lot and not know what they are managing).
And of course they check the D&I box.

Call center agent here..Absolutely agree with the first reply. This company does not even treat us like we are human people… we are just a number and treated like robots with completely unreasonable metrics. I do continue to keep my eyes open for other roles. Don’t expect this company to care about your mental health… You have to do that for yourself or they’ll run it into the ground. I do whatever it takes to take care of my mental health and this company’s bottom line will never come before that.

Leadership one to 2 band levels above hourly/salary workers & their support staff don't care & are a huge part of perpetuating the toxic culture
B3 B2 are either daft, oblivious or willfully ignorant to the problems on the employee level. Maybe for the purpose of plausible deniabilty, they are citing travel expense freezes as the reason not to do in person visits, but if we can gas up our cars, charge our Teslas with inflation as it is with stagnat wages, they can use their corporate card to get boots on the ground in these locations to breath in the same air we do.
It's almost as if the power struggle is so hyper focused on eliminating WFH and making employees bow that the main issues are not a concern to them. I predict multiple employee based class action suits in the post pandemic era based on incompetent mid and upper level management options to unnecessarily single out employees or harass them. Toxic workplace culture should be inexcusable and its a borderline if not outright form of abuse or bullying. Employees who feel embattled or undervalued will continue to use FMLA or whatever resource they have available. Employees are fed up and the company has the audacity to taut the talking point of the moment mental health. Its not hard to decipher the message in the message. We want you to see a shrink so you don't need to go out on leave. Wonder what the line item amount is for leave due to employee burnout?
