Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Guinea Pigs

I hope everybody realizes the company fully intend to eliminate the entire sales force. They just didn’t want to rip the bandaid off all at once. Doing it incrementally gives them the chance to ease into it and let stores get used to the horrible service they weren’t used to.

I’m out, but my situation much different than most…..I would call it a “silver” handshake. Nearly a year’s severance,(accumulated PTO of 12 weeks included) full pension, employee medical insurance coverage till 65 & a 401k….I obviously have 3+ decades of employment with the company. I don’t have any regrets, survived numerous changes, but yeah, the erosion of the job, is truly a prisoner of “capitalism” there was a time, when this was a fantastic company to work for. Unfortunately, not the case anymore. I exited end of Jan. 2023 left industry, started my own small business, piggy backed on another’s. I didn’t realize how abusive Mondelez had become, till I was no longer in the “labor” relationship with it. I think unless you can work for yourself or a smaller company, the corporate world will just be an abusive relationship for all. Making billions on the backs laborers, who they fail to pay a substantial living wage. When the biggest billion dollar corporation’s employees are dependent on federal assistance(Walmart, 60+%) in spite of working full time, that’s an abusive relationship, walking over the people who w/o wouldn’t have “billions.” To be a billionaire, you had to exploit your labor, nobody needs to be a billionaire, while advocating to cut all “safety nets” for the laborers they exploited!

To one who is inquiring about why those of us who wisely left, but come back to this site…..offer years of insight! That’s why! Things aren’t gonna change, only get worse. It’s not the first time this organization has allowed profits over people to dictate how people are treated, but for the smart ones who left, it was the last!!! Feeling real good about getting out when I did! A real sh-t show! Alcoholic managers who sc--w all the young innocent interns! Call employees from a bar at 5:00 on a Friday to check in when late trucks cause 12 hour days. No thanks!!!

I've been out since the beginning of the year, noticing hardly any displays out in the stores anymore.
