With a likely chance that I will not have a job within a few months, I've lost all motivation to do anything but what I absolutely have to. The way T is handling this seems designed to ruin morale and get people to give up and quit. I'm sad to say that it's working on me. I'm this close to just not showing up one day.

Our VP is also disgusted with the status quo’s f the company and hinted he is looking elsewhere/outside T.

Will move or resign. It should be interesting to see who is backfilled.
Same people getting the work done while all this craziness takes place.
"I prefer the gold old days where Ii got paid and didn't do much. So sad that they are making me actually work."
Hey troll, do you ever leave? Tell me, what exactly are "gold old days"? And who is this "li" who's getting paid for not doing much?
So so sorry that you actually have to work, sad boy.
I prefer the gold old days where Ii got paid and didn't do much. So sad that they are making me actually work.
Hang in there & don’t quit unless you can land a better or comparable ($) gig. This fiasco was intentionally designed to stress us out, so that folks will skeedattle (sans severance pay).
How bout a couple more flair badges from AT&T university? Maybe good for a job at Meta. Ask your “team”.
I'm seeing a lot of the OP's feelings on Teams meetings, all the way up past L3.
It's sad, really... This process could have been far differently.
I was laid off in June, and go off payroll December 1. My work ethic has collapsed, but am doing enough to avoid firing for cause. I want the severance.
I spend my time job hunting on AT&T’s dime. Don’t quit without severance!
So many of us are just hanging out doing the minimal work to stay off the radar -waiting to be laid off - and we're not leaving until they pay us to leave.
The truth is way worse than what you are saying. As low level employees, we all THINK that's the game here but in reality, the effects this is having on the company and the stock value is huge and yet they are causing it intentionally just to get headcount down?
No, this is plain evidence that C-Suite executives really have ZERO leadership ability, Vision, or brains and have no business at the helm of this company. The only reason they are still in their positions is because ALL of them are incompetent but protecting each other. I mean, COME ON, Stank is on the board! And have you looked into the other Bozos on the board? It's not about you - those people really are idyots.
You will see when they hire the young employees they say they want and yet nothing will change. Why? Because they are gonna ask the low level employees to bring the vision. But that's not their job and they won't be paid for it, so they will leave.
Don't quit. Let them pay you severance and unemployment. Spend your time at work updating your resume and take some training to increase your skill set. If a recession does hit during the end of 2023, you'll be ready for it. Even though they say the labor market is strong, many companies have hiring freeze now and budget cuts for next year. Save your money. Start paying the credit cards bills with highest interest rates first. Have at least a years worth of money saved up in case it's a deep recession.
