@1rua+1ofSB7vu if your interface to other teams and higher ups is your status collector, then higher ups will see absolutely no reason not to ship your job to a low cost country while they still keep interacting with your status collector.

good luck @1rua+1ofSB7vu

What a joke of a company. All these jobs are the same and require hardware, software or systems skills. NVDA needs to evolve and hire productivity specialists with skills like MS Teams, MS Project and most importantly Yammer. Moving on, growing their legal, IT and marketing teams should be their top priority if they wish to have a chance competing with Qualcomm.

I am 100% sure NVDA will not call any Qcom employees for the interview

I like status collectors. My team got one a year or so ago and I no longer need to attend lousy meetings where they collect status from attendees in a round-robin fashion. I created a good rapport with my status collector and told this person that I will not be attending his meeting due to a conflicting meeting (fake one created for this purpose). I promptly email my status each week to the status collector without fail. I do my job without needless distraction and the status collector gets updates promptly from my side. I like my status collector.

A status collector is usually a senior staff or principal engineer /manager or director. They are generally out of touch with technical work as they spend most of their time collecting status of features / bugs from people who do the work and report it to their higher ups. Their primary goal is in being connected to other peer status collectors or being in a clique that will protect them during difficult times like now.

Most of them are really good at making architectural block diagrams littered with acronyms that junior engineers are not exposed to. They also act as the sole interface to peer teams and higher ups, there by ensuring their presence/importance is known while controlling the growth potential of junior engineers.

What is a status collector? A lot of comments mention it.
