Question for those who are working on leaving before the acquisition is finalized: How is the job market right now? I know it went to he-l at one point but I've been hearing good stuff recently and I was hoping to confirm it. I am not planning to leave on my own, but it would be good to know in case I'm among those who will be cut.

It depends on your current skills and the Geo where you are located. Here in the U.S. market there is still strong demand for talent with sought-after skills. While hiring bonuses are rare, salary increases are possible for the highly skilled technical and marketing roles. FYI, I'm currently interviewing, and planning my exit soon
Layoffs happening everywhere. Big difference between resigning now and after acquisition - after the acquisition you will have an increased competition in the thousands. And unless you have went with the market and learned new skills rather than relying on the VMware ecosystem, you will be in for a (salary) shock.
