Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Anyone have to start training their replacements?

I’m curious how this RTO mass layoff will be executed. Who will absorb the work you perform? How much training will be provided? Will they hire the younger employees that Mr. Stankey wants to replace you with? The wrecking ball is so massive it’s difficult to imagine how they can execute it. Please share your story.

If I have to train my replacements then I’m going to teach them wrong on purpose.

I received a surplus notice. I am not transitioning any of my work. They can figure it out. I have checked out.

I am teaching those young workers how to plug in the internet.

I had the honor of working with some of our younger employees. They’re d-mb as he-l. It took four of them a month to complete what I could have done in half a day. It’s sad.

One of my co-workers got the surplus notice in June. I was told I get to pick up his work and it was up to me to schedule calls to find out what he does. My Manager didn't bother doing that because he got the layoff notice too. The guy who was taking over for him didn't do anything about it either. So the training was minimal. In the end, the co-worker who got the surplus notice was allowed to keep his AT&T email and interview within the company and actually landed another job so he is still here. Since then we have found at least two things that he had screwed up which we have had to fix. In general, he was pretty clueless.

Transition Plan = Good Luck, I’m surplus (not wanted)!

They aren’t backfilling any of these jobs. If anything, there will be more layoffs after more people decide to move and RTO than they were expecting.

Everyone who opted not to move has to work a transition plan with their supervisor for their successor. Probably a few months for each employee.
