Corporations don't care about employees.
Employees are liability and not asset.
We're just a number used to keep their numbers up.
When they remove 40% of the work force. It will come from the bottom tier. Techs, CSR, overseas are considered as bottom of the barrel.

From a previous post "Starting to noticing a lot of new hires here in the States coming from Microsoft." Thank Black hole Kate for that.

The technology is so far behind and outdated. The new technology seems to get put on hold time after time and put off till next year or so. What a way to run a company!

40% in September? WOW! That's a bold prediction!

Let's start with maybe 40% of the Dir/Sr Dir and above positions and maybe 40% of the 1000+ that they've hired this spring/summer in India.

Starting to noticing a lot of new hires here in the States coming from Microsoft.

Lumen will cut 40% of the employees in September. Just like sinking ship, the unwanted deadweight will be unloaded.
Every corporation in the world practice this rule.

100% agree its destruction and not disruption

And the destruction is happening at a breakneck pace

it's not that that they don't embrace technology, it's that they embrace every technology and execute the majority of them very poorly

the wasteful death spiral continues

I doubt the government buys them out -- they are more broke than Lumen

except they just print more

I'm waiting for the government buy out... Seems we're on a path to self destruction instead of disruption.

Yes! Lumen is hiring.
Lumen wants to replace all senior employees with new hires whom are easier to control.
UAW is same. The original 80% whom makes the most up to 90k a year is trying to get the best contract for the rest of 20% who barely makes minimum wage.
Don't get too greedy by asking too much. The union could implode if all 3 OEMS decide to ship their jobs to Mexico.

A job is a job. Take the money and move on when something better comes along.

I see people posting on Linked In that Lumen is hiring?! That’s a hard pass! What a bunch of delusional buffoons! Who would sign up for that debacle?!

Usually they run out of money about this time or earlier each year.

Just like UAW in September, don't wish for things you want. It could be a train wreck.

Just as the days will get shorter and the nights longer Lumen will continue it's slow motion train wreck into bankruptcy.
