Has there been any change in the anticipated layoff date or is it still coming this week? I'm surprised because this is Labor Day week, but I wouldn't put it past Nielsen to do it this week exactly because it's a Labor Day week to send a message about how little they care about employees.

What is the usual severance package?
I was laid off this morning. It had nothing to do with performance, it is strictly about cost reduction for the company. They are still giving their usual severance package, which I appreciate. I think a lot of the US will be done today and maybe tomorrow.
Layoffs are going to take a while, esp for non US based employees. The US, however, is usually swiftly handled, it’s easier to chop us but give it a week or two all the same. THAT SAID, from here on out no one is ever safe. If revenue goals are not met at the end of quarters, more will go from here on out. Nielsen’s new debt owners just want a return on the debt they bought, they don’t give a fu-k about any of us. There will never be job security here again, as much as it ever existed before.
remember you can negotiate your severance. Don’t do a 401k match over them paying full healthcare is one example, you can counteroffer if you need something adjusted or your own specific needs.

Well cat's out of the bag now! DK sent out an email announcing it, looks like they're cutting 9% of the workforce globally. Will need to wait and see if there are any departments that get cut by 40% as someone previously mentioned.

I got my 1:1. It’s happening.
Happening for sure tomorrow. Managers sending out the 1:1 invites this evening with the affected employees.
I can’t wait! Heard this time little bit of upper and middle management is on the table. Hope it’s true.

a limited number of Layoff in Nielsen is not a news this year - what are you expecting or what reasonably good info you have?
