Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

At Wells Fargo, if you try to do the right thing, you get punished by the corrupt leadership.

In HR, bad managers routinely promoted other bad managers. Loyalty and the ability to protect each other was prized over ability, integrity, and professionalism. This had the effect of driving away good employees and those who aspired to be good managers. Given that this happens in HR, it shouldn't be any surprise that HR allows this to happen in the LOBs.

Members within the old boys club protect each other. That's how they continue to thrive. There is absolutely no moral or ethics at Wells Fargo. Top executives are corrupt, middle managers are their puppets, even HR is under their bad influence. Customers lists Wells Fargo as the most hated bank in the country.

I'm sure it depends on what part of the bank you work in, but in my area 90% of the sc--w ups are ICs.

I worked in consulting and had the opportunity to interact with managers across many financial institutions before coming here. Wells Fargo management is absolutely, hands down the worst. The longer the have been at helm, the lazier and corrupt they are. They are in pre-retirement although many have past the retirement age and are not willing to listen nor support new ideas.

Why not just apply somewhere internally? Then you won't have to wait for the bonus.

Bad managers are everywhere and don't even think for one second that Wells or any other corporation is any different. They're different but the same.

My group is the quintessential entitled mediocre white boy’s club. I know that other parts of the bank have groups made up of Indians and others who only hire people like them, but here we do it the old fashioned way. White men (and a few young white women for decoration) only need apply.

And when I say mediocre I mean Mediocre. As long as they talk sports with the group director they’re all protected. That’s all it takes.

Which gives you a clue as to why the marketing su-ks.
