Surplus

Has anybody been able to voluntarily get their job surplussed? Looking to leave Toxic T but been waiting for a surplus.

don't wait for a surplus. taxes will get half of it and it really isn't worth wasting your life at cesspool att.

"Was asked to relocate, I refused, a week later, got surplussed."

I have been involved with many surpluses, and have never seen one go from "names in the hat" to people notified in a week. There's a bunch of bureaucracy that has to happen. It always drags on for weeks.

I'm not saying it didn't happen the way you say it did, from your perspective. I am unconvinced that A caused B.

But maybe you were already on the layoff list, and the RTO/move thing was a completely separate process, and/or your boss didn't want to backdoor notify you before he was supposed to by not asking you to move. Maybe your sup didn't even know because the decision was made 1 or 2 levels up the chain.

If you are in an affected group, just ask your supervisor. Most will be happy to have a volunteer and tweak the numbers to make you the surplused person in their group.

Likely RTO deniers.

Why downvote this comment? This is what I did. Was asked to relocate, I refused, a week later, got surplussed. I see it as my choice.

“Easy: stop trying, don't do much, make it so you’re rated low. Good luck!“

That’s just plain termination. Might as well resign on your own accord and sc--w the company temporarily

Are you in Dallas? If yes, you’ll have to resign on your own. Worth it.

Have you tried ripping your boss on one of those anonymous surveys yet?

Absolutely not. Everything done at at&t is on their terms, not anyone else's. Stankey calls the shots, he's not willing to share the power!
