Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Severance question

This one was unclear to me. So if you’re offered by Exxon and work the 2 years or whatever but do NOT want to relocate, you will or will not get a severance?

According to HR if you are offered a job and you work at LCO, the job offer will either be for midland or Houston, further than 50 miles from PXD. The LCO office is remaining open for 2 years as a courtesy to PXD employees who take an offer to give them time to move to their new location. If you don’t want to move to Houston or midland from LCO, you can always take the severance.

This thread has it wrong. If you are offered a comparable job at lco and are presently an lco employee you will not qualify for severance.

No severance. You accept the relocation package or accept the severance at close. Then the new Exxon staff work for 2-3 years at LCO and then finally move. No take backs when it’s time to move. You essentially voluntarily quit if you do.

Just know there is no career at ExxonMobil. It’s a one year contract each year until the annual PIP/ranking.
