In the past there have been early retirement offers where they added time to your age and time to your service for retirement eligibility. If you had 25 years and were 50 years old and the offer was a 5 and 5 they would treat your retirement as if you had 30 years of service and were age 55. The last time I remember this being done was in the 1990s.
