Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Just received an Offer (Irving, TX) What is the Hybrid WFH Model?

I was told that there is a requirement of 2x a week in office with 3 days WFH. Is there any expectation of that number of days in office to change? Is there any flexibility in the model? (ex. if not feeling well, can I WFH for one day or will I be forced to take PTO). If traveling for holidays to see family, can short term exceptions be made? Thanks in advance.

LinkedIn job search is your friend. They have a job search filter for remote work.

It is currently 2 days at Site. Email went out to start 3 days but some heads are not strictly implemented. Idea is to slowly increase similar to other banks taking advantage of layoffs

ID: @3pyb+1p3oT5Qf I agree poor Jane. She is such a trooper. She treats her staff with dignity and respect. She is handling this massive layoff with such compassion, a true hero.

As posted elsewhere:

Some of you guys are way too harsh and have forgotten all the good things Jane has done. Like when she gave herself a 9% increase in pay. $24.5 Million 2022 Paycheck, Up 9% while CEO’s at other big banks, including Goldman and Morgan Stanley, had their pay slashed. You know, stuff like that

There is no flexibility in the policy. You have to take PTO. Badge swipes are closely monitored and HR is waiting on the sidelines in hopes to rid of people without paying severance. In general Citi has a punitive culture where any infraction no matter how small is quickly escalated to an MD.

Oh and to the commenter who mentioned pizza or donuts to incentivize employees to come to the office.. Citi doesn’t spend a dime more than it has to on employees. One site couldn’t even give $5 an employee for special food trucks that were onsite. The location had to send an email rescinding the pitiful perk.

What makes me laugh is that Citi is trying to come across as an “on the cutting edge” company. Work from home IS the cutting edge, a work from anywhere. Coming into the office is so OLD SCHOOL. So yes, they’ll use this as a tool to run people off.

So we already know what the new crisis will be. Later there’ll be a huge mystery as too why can’t we retain top talent.

Why work at Citi that requires you to come into the office when you can work for another company at home for the same money OR even more money.

From there you’ll get the genius idea to offer “Pizza Tues” or “Donut Thursday” to retain top talent. Yep, problem solved.

My co worker in Texas is working 2 days a week due to limited seating space.
This will increase to 3 days a week once space is refurbished.

I have contacts in HR and was told recently Citi is going to gradually and methodically do away with remote working. Have not heard exactly how they will go about it, but if you are working from home 100% and are not willing to go into an office nearby, or there isnt one, you should be looking for your next move. Wouldnt surprise me if they use this as a way to get out of paying people severance for this reorg. "your role is now based in the XYZ office". So if you can't do that, you resigned

Its awesome coming into the office to look around and see everyone on different zoom calls talking over each other.

You know, something you can do at home in a more private environment.

The recession will be used a tool to instill fear. Come in more often, step in line, with an implied “or else”, after all its a recession, times are hard.

“Is there an expectation of that number of days in office to change”- - Its possible. Most likely after everyone gets used to coming into the office, the number of days will increase is my bet.

All your other questions can only be answered and is up to your hiring manager and\or their manager.
