Monday October 30 8am EST or PST? Do those that are laid off lose access to all VMW systems?
If we lose access I guess we will know before notification arrives at our personal email. Otherwise we wait through the day for that email? The next 2 weeks are going to be interesting to see if we are getting some more information on what is happening on Oct 30.

If you think cutting off access is just mean, then frankly you’re just being naive. Wouldn’t it make more sense to brick your machine and cut off your access, as opposed to risking you going ballistic and taking down some vital system you have access to? Also, if your access is just cut off , you aren’t in any way obligated to “wrap stuff up” for anyone. Sure, some kind words or something might be nice, but in the end it is just business.
This is my 9th Merger in 37 years in IT. Don't sweat the small stuff everyone. We'll either be where we are or somewhere else. Life is way to short to worry about something you have no control over.

i find this kind of process very cold. Won't ki-l them to be a little human. Karma's a b*.. what goes around comes around. Everything will balance out.
