Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

It is simple.....very simple...Severance

IF you are an LCO employee you have a 90% chance of getting a job offer

  • If you deny the job, it triggers severance., because the job you have no longer is in DFW

IF you live in midland you have a 100% chance of getting a job

  • You deny the job, you don't get severance.

  1. only boots in the ground in midland are 100%. If you’re office employee in midland , you’re just as disposable as Irving folk.
  1. as soon as close happens, the clock starts ticking. The clock strikes midnight at 2 years post close. If you don’t have an offer by 1.5 years after close, you better have a job lined up because you’ll likely be left with NOTHING. And that’s Exxons right.

Been through several acquisitions and each one us different but one major repeatedly gave people offers that did not require an immediate move, even for jobs they outsourced, keeping them around long enough to be past the two year protection period. Then they laid them off under their lousy severance. They literally called it "free labor" since our change of control was.generous. The only folks who did not get treated this way were managers, who were mostly severanced out, and field workers. As part of the transition team, I overheard them. I also learned this was SOP for acquisitions.

You won’t be at EOX, but you may be at XOM

You may get a job offer but you will start all over again! If you are a manager or above at PNR you won’t be at EOX.
The job you have now won’t be the one offered to you!

Two years post-close, all bets are off. Severance no longer triggers.

Do you still get severance when they move you to Spring let’s say after four years? Or even two? You are an XOM employee by then.

For that supposed 10% who will not receive job offers in LCO- that still triggers severance, correct?
