I have been hearing October 26th since the end of September but until the actual layoffs happen it’s all speculation. I guess we will find out in 5 days…this is terrible for morale throughout the company.

We’ve been BUSY in Verizon Value, and as another week gets ready to wrap, I’m reflecting back on the amazing Leadership Summit we held last week in Miami. It left me very focused and excited about our path ahead.

Our plans are robust and disruptive. Yet it’s not so much about all those initiatives we have on the docket. It’s about the TEAM that will make it happen. And they showed UP with passion, a growth mindset and commitment for our future.

Sowmyanarayan Sampath joined me for a fireside chat, grounding us in our critical role in the larger Verizon Consumer portfolio and sharing his leadership philosophy and perspective of the US wireless market. There is a palpable energy left in the room whenever Sampath joins us, and we are all grateful to have him at the helm.

Our priorities: Clear and focused.
Our team: Aligned and stronger than ever.
Our mantra: Better. Faster. Together.

It’s our ship. And we are going full throttle.

Are you paid by the C-Suite to write this juxtaposition?

Have you not discerned the VZ share price of late, within the last 12-months?

Such fearmongering....largest in company history? Pathetically stupid to put that out there with zero concrete facts of any kind.

We need some more details on this one:

How sad, two days prior to the largest possible RIF in the history of this corporation. And then still more to come... and possibly as early next year.

There will be layoffs. In the past there have been layoffs. Unfortunately, this rationale has been revisited over time with the net bottom line results, RIFs and layoffs.

Cheaper employee compensation away from the concentrated Verizon regions within the Northeast of the US.

Concentrating, central hubs, for management employees not union associates, primarily within the former GTE (not the Bell Atlantic) geographic regions.

Hiring skill sets different.

How can there be layoffs when they are actively hiring up here in the Northeast?

VZ's Q3 Earnings:

Slated, for next Tuesday, 10/24/2023, before the equity market open's for trading.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, joy!!!!

How sad, two days prior to the largest possible RIF in the history of this corporation. And then still more to come... and possibly as early next year.

Duplicity??? Or is it contradictory??

Cannot believe everything you read nor hear, as you know better than that because almost all the rank-and-file employees are pawns, in this game, now at VZ, and sinking.

10-26 is always one of the biggest RIFs of the year. At a macro level, we need to preserve cash flow to show the Street that our dividend is safe. So I'd expect some this year.

Several months ago a little birdie friend in VGS shared that there would be material layoffs in October. I took it that they meant within VGS, but I did not press the issue.

Good luck in this year's Squid Game!

Duplicity in messaging...

Craig says we're doing good (in VGS which includes GTS), that we're under budget....

Yet, if RIFs do come, then what he is really saying??

Frankly dont comprehend your rebuff.....

The rebuttals, to the rhetoric being renditioned, subject, thus targeting the Asian-Indians, are in reference to the rank and file, white-collar management professionals.

Contrarily, if its the VZ executives, you complain about then you are generalizing, based on biases.

File a complaint, if not done so. Resign and find another employer. Why do you continue to work for this employer??

VZ's Asian-Indians dont have any entitlements nor guaranteed assurances.

Get your eyes examined. And as well as your hearing and cognitive brains. I live and breath this everyday for the last 20+ years prior to the amalgamation of GTE.

Clearly, the embodied Asian-Indians, are at risk as well. Asian-Indians are not immuned to the RIFs. You dont know what the he-l you are talking about. Again, you generalize.

Asian-Indians, not completely immune to being RIFed, and also transitioned to Infosys and HCL.

I am an example and an abundant number of other examples of employees lending reductions.

Vehemently, Asian-Indians are not safe. Bad generalization.
