Google Public Cloud Forum, seconds ago comment from the Us Air Force use case suggests that bad actors using AI to get around our traditional signature based security. It won’t be long before everyone throws away their signature based endpoint security for better alternatives.
Symantec, as a signature based solution, is old tech. CB is new tech. A CB sale would be very foolish. Is HT that short sided? I would imagine Symantec folks are a bit nervous right now. HT should see CB as an opportunity that VMware may have squandered.
CB will remain under BC after acquisition as a subsidiary while they work to find the best offer. It will be sold off though. Wells Fargo is handling inquiries right now, and there’s a good amount of interest in CB. CB will continue to be made as autonomous as possible for easy spin off. I’d expect CB to have minimal layoffs as part of the acquisition as BC wants to keep it fully intact and functional, but they may look to clear some of the bloat and improve the books a bit.
Could be spun off.
Could be spun off immediately
Could be spun off immediately as an independent or sold to a PE
Could be held onto Broadcom for a few months and then sold off.
Many ways to go. Even if "spun off" will happen, we don't know in what way.
Yes…
Or, no…
Or, maybe…
That rumor has been on this board for a month or so now.
